30 YEAR TOURNAMENT ANGLER

 30+ Career Tournament Wins

Multiple Angler Of The Year Titles

Before joining the National Professional Fishing League I had strictly fished crappie tournaments with my father for 25 years. That changed last year due to his decision to retire. His retirement, while bittersweet, is the impetus I need to chase my bass fishing dream.  As a young angler my "first love" was bass fishing.  In fact, that is the original path I was taking...until my father asked me to fish a crappie tournament with him.  My dad and I had early success and ended up winning our first tournament that same year....and I was "hooked."  I fell in love with chasing crappie with my father in the boat beside me. There aren't many sports that  allow you to compete side by side with your Dad...and I will never regret making the decision to move from the bass side over to tournament crappie fishing. Now that he has decided to retire, it's my chance to turn back to my love of bass fishing. I am beyond blessed to have a family that understands the time that l have to invest to be successful in tournament fishing. My wife Shawna and I have a "combined" 7 children between us!  I joke that is why I "need" to go fishing... to stay sane!  In all seriousness, I wouldn't change a thing... I tend to get bored easily, so 7 kids ranging in age from 11 to 28 helps to keep me young!  Surprisingly, in between family and fishing I also "sneak in" a full-time job.  I own a healthcare construction company named Structsure Projects.

I enjoy all aspects of tournament fishing, but mostly I have a passion for watching other anglers find success with the tips that I've learned from all the hours I've spent out on the water. I've always been an outdoorsman and to be able to contribute to people enjoying the great outdoors is a driving force behind me being so passionate about sharing my experiences.

The hardest part of switching from tournament crappie fishing to bass fishing is wanting to find the success I did on the crappie side.  That being said, I'm pumped to get the ball rolling and come full circle in the sport that ignited my passion for tournament fishing in the first place!
